The coin counter is operated by just turning the handle. It can be used in locations without electric outlets, such as outdoors. The actual counting procedure is done by a battery operated electronic circuit.

The separation happens turning on the solenoid of channel2 (the coin goes to channel 2) and of channel 3 (the coin goes to channel 3). If none of the solenoids get turned on the coin goes to channel 1 (neutral channel)
